Beware of fraudulent text messages, emails and websites!
In recent months, fraudulent text messages, emails and letters have been circulating, offering you the possibility to pay or appeal against unpaid fines on counterfeit official-looking websites that aim to collect your personal information and bank details illegally.
Attention aux SMS ou courriels frauduleux sur un smartphone

For information: ANTAI never sends out text messages. Do not click on any link(s), and never provide sensitive personal information such as your bank details!

If it is an email, make sure the sender is genuine before opening the message. Emails from ANTAI must come from nepasrepondre_noreply@antai.gouv.fr

Recently, fake letters (notices of offence or reminder letters) have been directing recipients to fraudulent websites whose main purpose is to collect your personal data (tax reference number, driving licence number, identity card or passport details, vehicle transfer or destruction certificate, etc.).

What should you do in the event of phishing or an attempted scam?

To avoid falling victim to these 'phishing' attempts, always check the website address in the browser bar of the page you have been redirected to. The only official ANTAI website is https://www.antai.gouv.fr/en

Never provide sensitive information by email, telephone or online forms: no government department will ever ask you for your bank details, passwords, etc.

Check that any links or QR codes received do actually direct you to one of the official websites listed below. If not, the website is fraudulent; you should close the browser window.

For further advice, see the Guide to preventing scams and/or follow the CNIL's recommendations (French only).

You can also report fraudulent websites at www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr and forward fraudulent text messages to 33700, the platform for reporting spam calls and texts.
